PYI manufactures an array of flanges, in many material options, built to accommodate individual installations and applications. The PSS flange system can be used with the PSS Shaft Seal or built to suit existing installations using alternative sealing solutions. The flange systems can be ordered as a "standard" (flange and shaft log), as an "inflatable bladder unit" (Flange, shaft log, and inflatable bladder), or as a "bladder-insert" to retrofit an existing flange while incorporating the PSS bladder system. The inflatable bladder option executes sealing of the shaft log while the shaft is not rotating to inspect, clean, or do work forward of the seal. In addition, if the decoupling of the shaft is needed, this operation can be completed in the water as the shaft can be moved aft with the bladder inflated and no water intrusion occurring. This inflatable bladder can also seal the stern tube in case of a real emergency and is a requirement to meet many vessel class certifications.
Aluminum Treatment
Aluminum is easily corroded. PYI does not apply any treatment to the aluminum unless requested by the customer. Due to PYI's proximity to the Boeing Factory, PYI can supply any aluminum treatment requested by the customer. Please specify which aluminum treatment you require for a quote.

Manufactured specific to the individual application / dimensional specifications, this flange system is available in Stainless Steel, Acetal (plastic), Steel, or Aluminum. Fit with a mounting flange, integrated backup air seal (bladder), and shaft log, this system pairs seamlessly with the PSS Shaft Seal or other available sealing options. The inflatable bladder executes sealing of the shaft log while the shaft is stationary, allowing you to inspect, clean, or do work forward of the seal. In addition, if the decoupling of the shaft is necessary, this operation can be completed in the water as the shaft can be moved aft with the bladder inflated and no water intrusion occurring. Day 1 - Rough Sketch
All that we need to get started is a rough sketch with necessary dimensions to begin.

Day 3 - Dimensional Drawing
Our team will then take your sketch and create a scaled dimensional drawing for you to approve before we begin production.

Day 4 - Rendering
A 3-D model rendering created in SolidWorks will be provided to you.

Day 10 - 15 - Completed Parts
After 10-15 days all parts will be manufactured and assembled ready to be delivered to you.
